Elliot Goodman’s practice is focused on personal injury litigation. Elliot’s clients benefit from his diverse legal experience, client focused approach and legal problem-solving skills. Elliot is committed to maximizing results for his clients.
Elliot has handled cases involving orthopaedic, spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries and bicycle, motorcycle/e-bike accidents. He has extensive experience in the area of municipal negligence, including prosecuting cases of sidewalk and roadway disrepair. Elliot worked as a municipal licensing and standards inspector and draws on this experience when litigating against municipalities.
Elliot began his career in the tax department at Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP now Dentons (the world’s largest law firm) where he drafted complex wills and trusts for high net worth clients. He then practiced at Thomson Rogers where he gained valuable litigation experience. Elliot has frequently appeared in the Superior Court of Justice and has co-authored a number of articles, which have been presented at legal education seminars. Elliot is a contributing author of a textbook on property rights and obligations under Ontario family law. He has also presented on various legal topics to the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators.
Elliot holds an International Bachelor of Business Administration degree (accounting specialization) from the Schulich School of Business, York University. As part of the IBBA program, he completed the Undergraduate Program in European Management at the École Supérieure de Commerce de Rouen in France. Upon his return to Toronto, Elliot earned a degree in Urban Studies from York University and graduated with Merit on the Dean’s Honour List. Elliot holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Windsor and was admitted to the Law Society of Upper Canada.
When he is not advocating on behalf of his clients, Elliot enjoys playing hockey and working on his golf game.
